Delevan DMV COVID-19 Plan
The following is from the document "delevan-dmv-covid-plan.docx"
The office is small, but the existing work space will accommodate 3 cashier stations and 3 customers at a time to allow for social distancing. The work stations are more than 6 feet apart. There will be times that employees will need to be closer than 6 feet, and all employees will have face masks and instructions to always wear them when closer than 6 feet from anyone. There already is a 6 foot wall separating the customers from the employees. The break room is large enough for 2 employees to take a break or eat at the same time and maintain distance.
There is no possibility of remote work of any kind for the DMV. We already use a 4 day work week.
We will restrict access to the lobby area. It is small, and can only have 2 waiting people to allow distancing. The office has a large front window that faces the parking lot. We plan to purchase a “take a number” machine that we will place outside our door, but under a large walkway that is protected from rain and snow. We will ask people to take a number and return to their car and watch the sign. We will have a “now serving number” sign both in the office and facing out the window. The cashiers will be able to advance the numbers from their work stations. We will only allow 2 people to wait in line at any time. We will mark the floors to show proper distancing.
We will encourage all employees who show signs of illness to not come to work, and we will provide COVID-19 training from Civil Service to all employees.
We will provide the necessary face masks to all employees and encourage them to use the masks properly and to keep them clean. We have already purchased a large supply of pens that we plan to give away. If someone in the office uses the pen, they will get to keep it. We will have appropriate signage for this. The full size Bic pens cost us less than 5 cents each. We will clean and sanitize the frequently touched areas often throughout each day. Each employee will have their own bottles of hand sanitizer, and we will have hand sanitizer available for the public to use. I hope to get a no touch unit for this. We have a bathroom that is stocked with soap and paper towels so hand washing will be very easy and encouraged to be done often.
